This guide distills more than 23 years of San Antonio photography into practical, easy-to-follow checklists — whether you're a parent, a school director, or an event planner.

What to Wear

Solid colors and coordinated (not matching) palettes photograph best. Avoid busy patterns, large logos, and neon shades. Earth tones, jewel tones, and neutrals work beautifully against our ivory and sand backdrops. Bring a backup outfit for kids — spills happen. We'll send a full wardrobe guide tailored to your session type with specific color palette suggestions for each season.

When to Schedule

Book early — popular seasons like fall (September–November) and spring (March–May) fill up fast. Newborn sessions are best in the first 10–14 days. Maternity portraits shine around 28–34 weeks. School picture days should be booked at least a semester ahead. Senior portraits should be scheduled the summer before graduation year.

Who to Bring

Partners, siblings, and grandparents are welcome in portrait sessions. For school and event days, we'll coordinate with your staff or organizers so everyone knows the flow and timing. For newborn sessions, we encourage both parents to be present for family portraits. For weddings, designate one family member as the point person for group photos.

What to Expect on the Day

We guide posing, expression, and the little adjustments so you look like the best version of yourself — never stiff. Sessions move at your pace, with breaks for kids, feeding, or weather as needed. Arrive 10 minutes early to settle in. We'll review your wardrobe choices, talk through what you're hoping for, and make sure everyone is comfortable before the first shutter click.
